Bill Handley

Bill works for the Los Angeles Airport Police (LAXPD) and is currently assigned to Internal Affairs. He holds the rank of Sergeant II, which is a senior supervisor within his organization. Bill is a highly experienced Internal Affairs investigator who is often called upon to train personnel new to Internal Affairs.  Bill routinely shares his knowledge with other supervisors and managers within his division, including planning training programs. His previous assignments have included patrol and working in his agency’s Homeland Security Section assigned with the Dignitary Protection Unit.  In 2014, Bill was awarded the Police Star by his agency.

Prior to being elected as the Regional Executive Committee Chairman of the NIAIA at the 2016 conference in Charleston, SC, Bill was the NIAIA designated regional recruiter for his area. Bill was nominated for the NIAIA Investigator of the Year Award in 2015.

Other items of interest: Bill is currently an adjunct Instructor for two colleges in the Southern California area teaching Criminal Justice and Homeland Security.  He holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts.
